Therapeutic activity of the clinic involves complete spectrum of gastroenterosurgery, thoracic surgery, hepatal and pancreatobiliar surgery, surgical treatement of portal hypertension and traumatology. Miniinvasive surgical techniques are also frequently used, especially cholecystectomy, appendectomy, gut resection and bariatric operations.
Research activities are focused particularly upon oncosurgery (surgery of cancer). Within the scope of grant projects are solved pancreatic tumors, liver tumors, trombo-embolic complications and coagulation disorders in oncological patients, surgical treatement of obesity and intensive care isssues ( e.g. polytrauma, sepsis ).
